Luhaan at nagiisa?

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth is a 2006 documentary film about global warming directed by Davis Guggenheim, presented by former United States Vice President Al Gore. The film premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and opened in New York and Los Angeles on May 24, 2006. The film was released on DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment on November 21, 2006. A companion book by Gore, An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It, reached #1 on the paperback nonfiction New York Times bestseller list on July 2, 2006. The documentary won Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature and for Best Original Song.

You look at that river gently flowing by. You notice the leaves rustling with the wind. You hear the birds; you hear the tree frogs. In the distance you hear a cow. You feel the grass. The mud gives a little bit on the river bank. It’s quiet; it’s peaceful. And all of a sudden, it’s a gear shift inside you. And it’s like taking a deep breath and going... 'Oh yeah, I forgot about this'.

Al Gore in the opening monologue of An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth focuses on Al Gore and his travels in support of his efforts to educate the public about the severity of the climate crisis. Gore says, "I've been trying to tell this story for a long time and I feel as if I've failed to get the message across." The film closely follows a Keynote presentation (dubbed "the slide show") that Gore presented throughout the world. It intersperses Gore's exploration of data and predictions regarding climate change and its potential for disaster with Gore's life story.

It weaves in events that changed his world view, including his college education with early climate expert Roger Revelle at Harvard University, his sister's death from lung cancer and his young son's near-fatal car accident. For comic effect, Gore also uses a clip from the FuturamaCrimes of the Hot" to explain global warming. Gore refers to his loss to George W. Bush in the 2000 United States presidential election as a "hard blow" yet subsequently "brought into clear focus, the mission [he] had been pursuing for all these years." episode "

The documentary has been generally well-received politically in many parts of the world and is credited for raising further awareness of global warming internationally, prompting calls for more government action in regard to the climate. Several colleges and high schools have begun to use the film in science curricula, though at least one US school district put temporary restrictions on its use in the classroom.

How High is the Price of Love?

If love we're standing infront of me and asked me: "What are you prepared to give for me?"

I don't know what I would say. But wait! Maybe I'd ask: "What have i done to you? Why did you jerk me of like that?"

And then I'd shake him till his thoughts get whirled like mine do-- a storm in a glass of water.

Maybe I'm stupid. Maybe I'm naive. Maybe hope dies last. And even though my heart is lying in pieces on the ground right now and other people are dancing the samba on it -- I still hope and feel that in the end love will give me a chance.

Its hard to lose faith, especially when love stabs you at the back -- you will have doubts, because love also hurts. But still...

...it is the greatest of all feelings. We give everything for love. (Really, everthing? Is that to high a price?)

Would we be prepared to pay for love with our lives?

Ahh yes! At least thats what someone wrote in a news paper article: that two young couple, suffered thru humiliation, prejudice and violence because they love each other. It's worth it not to let go, to fight and to beleive. A great and true love will always win in the end -- they proved that LOVE IS MADE OF COURAGE.

If you're destined for each other, the world can end, but at least you're not alone. It's better to drown together than burn alone.

I wish I could get my courage back to leave the past behind me. With renewed strength, without old wounds. That's why I let my soul write these words. Someday I will courageously laugh in the face on my fate, like those couple did.

ALL WE ARE

I tried to paint you a picture, the colors were all wrong
Black and white didn't fit you and all along
You were shaded with patience, your strokes of everything
That I need just to make it and I can see that

Lord knows I've failed you, time and again
But you and me are all right

We won't say our goodbyes
You know it's better that way
We won't break, we won't die
It's just a moment of change
All we are, all we are
Is everything that's right
All we need, all we need
A lover's alibi

I walked a minute in your shoes, they never would've fit
I figured there's nothing to lose, I need to get
Some perspective on these words before I write them down
You're an island and my ship has run aground

Lord knows I'll fail you, time and again
But you and me, we're alright

We won't say our goodbyes
You know it's better that way
We won't break, we won't die
It's just a moment of change
All we are, all we are
Is everything that's right
All we need, all we need
A lover's alibi

Every single day that I can breathe
You changed my philosophy
I'm never gonna let you pass me by

So don't say your goodbyes
You know it's better that way
We won't break, we won't die
It's just a moment of change

So don't say your goodbyes
You know it's better that way
We won't break, we won't die
It's just a moment of change
All we are, all we are
Is everything that's right
All we need, all we need
A lover's alibi

So don't say our goodbyes
You know it's better
We won't break, we won't die
"When I despair i remember that all through history the ways of TRUTH and LOVE have always WON.There have been TYRANTS and MURDERERS, and for A TIME they seem INVINCIBLE but in the END they always FALL."
